Pini Heights Hike

While enjoying the easy start of this hike in Pini we explore the rural and abandoned parts of Karpathos. We make our way towards the east-side of the island where we can spot Kyra Panagia but not before having a glimpse of Pigadia, Volada and Menetes in the distance. Right in front of us the highest peak of the Dodecanese becomes visible as we pass the gentle slopes of mount Lastos. While the cattle is making way for us we head towards another great view point and get to see the island’s neighbour; Kasos. We hike down through a little canyon and explore the steep walls formed over time by lime stone. The valley of Pini awaits us with many churches on our path where we end the loop.
